The Salon – A Grooming Project provides caring and meticulous dog grooming services, from basic baths and brushes to more skilled techniques like hand-scissoring. Our groomers are animal lovers first and foremost–we love helping dogs (and cats!) feel good.
While we may look and feel like a typical grooming salon, we are different in a very special way. Our salon is run by graduates of Kansas City’s only dog grooming school, The Grooming Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping local families leave the cycle of generational poverty. By bringing your dogs in for a groom you aren’t just helping them look and feel great, you are also helping local families thrive!

Grooming Services

Bath & Basics
Does your dog need freshened up but not a haircut? If so, our Bath & Basics is a great option!
Full Dog Groom
This is our most popular package and includes everything in our Bath & Basics package, plus a full-body haircut.
Cat Groom
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about our feline friends! One of our groomers specializes in cat grooms and would love to work with your kitty. Cat grooms are done in a separate area to ensure pet safety and promote relaxation.
Empowering the Parent to Empower the Child (EPEC) is a 501c3 organization dedicated to reducing generational poverty in Kansas City.
Through our state-certified grooming school and our Lee's Summit grooming salon, we train struggling parents to be pet groomers and salon managers, both in-demand, living-wage trades.
